Hello from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada! My name is Gayleen, and I have had the travel bug since I was 18 years old. My first experience was to go on my own to San Diego, California. I have travelled extensively alone, and with my children through the years. I just retired in June 2023 and six years prior, i dd my TESOL and received a certificate, planning to teach English during my retirement years.
I volunteered at a place called Welcome Place in Winnipeg for newcomers for a couple of years and absolutely loved it!
I have four children, two boys and two girls and we have all travelled the world extensively. I am definitely an extravert and I’m looking forward to the conversational English program in Spain. My job was as a Truant officer where I got to meet many different people. I’ve also worked as a computer graphic designer, and loved both of those positions as each day I didn’t know what my day would look like. Always unexpected and eventful!
When I travel, I like to get in with the people and not stay in a hotel, isolated. I like to experience all different things and try many different foods from those countries. I’m told by my friends and family, that I am very energetic and creative. My house is a home and filled with souvenirs and treasures picked up through the years by myself and my children. I am looking forward to many more travels and experiences and I’m hoping my time in Spain with Pueblo Ingles will be another positive experience to add to my list.
