I like wine. I have made wine, judged wine, harvested grapes, and even stomped them with my feet. I was president of the Seattle Wine Society which awards the gold, silver, and bronze medals for wine. I regularly host blind wine tastings and continue education in wine.
I earned a Masters Degree in Medieval History but left academia for paying jobs in the early computer industry. After retiring from Microsoft, I returned to my love of ancient times, and took up archeology in Central America. I have published a number of research papers and books on the Maya civilization which can be seen at www.mayas.doodlekit.com.
In addition I am active in politics and I volunteer to build and maintain hiking trails in the mountains with Washington Trails Association. My first Pueblo Inglés program was a La Alberca in Spain in 2013. It was so much fun that I did another in Bavaria the next year and I am signed up for Laubach in June.
