I worked as a teacher of technology for many years in the UK, and really enjoyed my job as teaching was my vocation. When I retired, I heard about this programme, so I came to Spain to try it out and I can tell you that it was amazing.
I remember my very first one to one was with a famous Spanish actress, called Adriana Ozores. Obviously, when we first met, I had no idea who she was, but I can tell you that she was and still is, an incredibly nice person.
I participated in the programme a few more times, and then decided to move to Spain, in order to do as many programmes as possible. Truly, the move was just for that reason.
In some ways, it’s as if all Spanish culture comes to you, and I have learnt more about Spain, about its cultural history and its people, from being on the programme, than actually just visiting the country as a tourist.
At the time of writing this, I have partaken in more than 90 programmes, and my intention is to keep doing this for as long as I can. Participating in this wonderful experience is my way of helping others, because teaching is central to my life.
