I was born in the Kuban region of Russia, lived in a Displaced Person’s Camp in Ansbach, Germany, and came to Kansas City, MO in the United States as a refugee.
I have been an educator for over 40 years. I was the Facilitator for Elementary Gifted Education for the Urbandale Community Schools for 18 years. Currently, an Art and Conservation Instructor for Metro Arts, a volunteer naturalist and teaching artist for Polk County Conservation Board, a cultural ambassador and teaching artist for Cultureall, and a community volunteer. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, studied painting at the Kansas City Art Institute, and holds graduate credits in Environmental Studies from University of Northern Iowa. As a delegation leader for People to People Student Ambassadors Program, I had the pleasure of leading young people to an understanding and appreciation of people and their varied cultures by experiencing world travel.
Pueblo Inglés was an exceptional experience in my quest to experience the cultures of the world. The people of Spain are so warm and fun!
