I’ve always been someone who feels most like myself around people, talking, listening, and learning from perspectives different from my own. I’m naturally curious and energized by connection, and I’m drawn to experiences that push me outside my comfort zone. For me, growth comes from stepping into unfamiliar spaces with an open mind and seeing what I can learn.
That mindset is what led me to Pueblo Inglés Teens. I didn’t see it simply as a volunteering opportunity, but as a chance to connect with others through conversation and shared experiences. From the beginning, the program created a welcoming environment full of energy, making each day feel meaningful.
Communication is an essential part of who I am. I enjoy expressing myself, asking questions, and engaging in thoughtful conversations. I’m interested in learning about cultures, languages, and the many ways people view the world. I believe everyone has something valuable to share, and I try to approach new situations with curiosity and openness.
During my time in the program, what stood out to me most was how naturally connections formed. Talks often went beyond surface-level topics, allowing people to share their ideas and experiences freely. I found myself learning just as much from others as they were from me, which made the experience feel genuine and rewarding.
One of the biggest lessons Pueblo Inglés reinforced for me was the importance of presence. Being a good volunteer isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers, it’s about showing up with enthusiasm, kindness, and a willingness to listen. I saw how just being engaged and supportive could positively shape the group dynamic.
This experience wasn’t just a single week, it was a reflection of who I am. Pueblo Inglés allowed me to be myself fully: open-minded, energetic, and eager to connect. I’m grateful to be part of a community that values human connection and gives young people a voice, and I’m proud to share my story as part of Pueblo Inglés.
